Hatred
What do you really mean by hatred?
Disliking someone or something,
Desire to distance, anger, or harm?
Does it make you feel eased,
Hating anyone?
Is your hatred just only about you?
No, it’s about you both.
It can hurt you on both sides—
The person who feels it,
And those around them.
If you hate someone or something,
Then you don’t love your peace of mind.
Hatred can lead both persons to the darkness,
Darkness that swallows you both.
Don’t throw yourself into the arms of darkness.
Peace attracts peace,
Hatred attracts hatred.
Hatred is like a beautiful curse.
You think you are getting satisfaction,
But it leaves you hollow within.
The way of saying “I hate it”—
Do you really mean it?
Does it only hurt you?
No, it hurts your mind too.
So what do you want?
Keep growing hatred,
Or keep your peace of mind?
Author’s Note
Hatred is not a force contained within one person—it spreads, consuming both the one who feels it and those around them. Though it may seem to offer satisfaction, it is only an illusion, leaving emptiness behind. -Monika Sunuwar
