He Or She?

Part 3

Jun becomes determined to find that person who sent flowers to August. He pulls out his phone from his pocket and calls his assistant to hire a private detective to look through this issue he has been engaged with right now.

So, today being a weekday for August, he woke up very late, and the day was pretty laid-back for him. He had planned nothing today, but even on weekends, he thinks of doing nothing, and then he got bored and got freshened up and planned to eat out and treat himself to good food, especially sweets. August is a sweet tooth; he can eat sweets as much as he can, and he can’t get full on sweets. He got dressed, wore headphones, played his favorite song, and walked in a good mood, smiling and dancing. He was walking down the street and was amazed at the scene that appeared before him. He was just about to run to help, but someone helped, so he stood there, watching that scene without blinking.

Scene:

The old lady was carrying a huge bag. She was about to fall because of the heavy load, but someone lent a helping hand and caught her. That person who helped her is none other than Jun. He asked if that old lady was okay and helped her put the bags in her car. The lady thanked him and gave him a huge chocolate bar. He did not want to take it, but she said he looked like her grandson, who wasn’t with her anymore. He reminds him of her grandson and gets emotional and huge and leaves saying, Bless you, you’re a kind and good guy. August witnessed this scene that time he was taken to the past, recalling the day when he encountered the same scene, but instead of Jun, there was a girl named Mary. Flashback to August memory of Mary. Mary and August were childhood friends from the orphan home. When August came to the orphan house, Mary was already there. Mary is a bubbly girl, but August wasn’t thrilled by Mary’s smile, thinking, who will be happy at a place like this? And who has got to be the orphan for his life? Even though Mary and August’s first meeting wasn’t on good terms, time passed by, and they became each other’s support.

Jun turns his back by seeing off the old lady. He is happy to see August, but he denies that he is so in love with August, so he is seeing him here too. He starts walking away but cannot resist the cute face of August and gets close to him. He just watched him with loveable eyes.

Jun: “Who can be this cute, making everyone fall in love with cuteness, kissable lips? ” Saying this, Jun gently raised his hand to touch August’s lips. The moment he touched his lips, August came into his senses, seeing Jun touching his lips. His eyes widen to see him this close; his heart was racing like a supercar in a race as he pushes Jun away: “What are you doing?” Jun gets startled because that wasn’t his dream.

Jun: Oh! Meow, boy, you are real. He jumps in happiness, as he were over the moon. August sees Jun as a child who got something which he dearly wanted. He smiles. Jun saw him smiling and asked him to smile more often because he looks cuter when smiling. He asks if he had his breakfast. He is about to eat out today; ask August to join him, but August denied. Jun asks to accompany him to the café. On the way to the café, Jun encountered a child who was crying. They walk to him and ask him why he is crying, where his parents are. Scared by seeing two strangers, the boy hesitated, and his stomach wouldn’t cooperate-he growled from hunger. Of course, the boy was ashamed. Jun and August smile at him and beckon him with them for something to eat.

The child said, “Do you want to kidnap me by luring me with food?” Jun burst into laughter and turned to August, saying, “This kid is way too smart; we can’t kidnap him.” The kid was scared to death and about to scream, but August scolded Jun for teasing kids like this and comforted the kid, just patting gently on his head. After being comforted by August, he relaxed, and he is sure that they are good guys who really want to help him to find a way back home.

August: Let’s first eat and then go search for your parents. The kid nodded his head saying, Ok. They went to the café and ordered strawberry ice cream. The kid was so happy to see ice cream that is his favorite. August smirks, seeing that the kid is enjoying his ice cream, and he also scoops ice cream to eat, but Jun suddenly catches his hand and feeds himself. August told Jun to eat your food and not steal my ice cream because I love it and don’t want to share with anyone. Jun smiles, chasing August, trying to steal his ice cream from his hand again. At this view, the kid starts laughing. Upon hearing the kid laughing, both of them also start laughing. The kid told them that his name is Kinn, and they were going to their grandma’s house. He got distracted seeing the toys near the shops, went to see them, and didn’t see his parents anymore. Ok, let’s find your parents. August said, and they followed the boy showing the way he came. Following the street, they found the toy shop and with it a murmur of sound was coming from the crowd near the toy shop. Kinn goes through the crowd and then sees his parents sobbing with a picture of him. He shouts Mom, Dad. They upon seeing Kinn were overjoyed. They ran to him and hugged him tightly. His mom showers him with kisses. Kinn, where were you? Not seeing you made us very sad. Kinn said, Mom, please let me go, I can’t breathe. His mom let go of him, “Sorry, son,” and Kinn introduced August and Jun. They are the ones who brought me back; I was lost. Kinn’s parents heartily thank them for bringing back their only son; saying goodbye to each other they left.

August sounds emotional: “Having loving parents is a god blessing.” Jun agreed, ‘Yes,’ facing August.

Jun: Your parents are also blessed by God to have such a kindhearted and cute son like you. August looks like he is about to cry, but he can’t: “I don’t have one.”

Jun pulled August from the arm and wrapped him in his arms, “Don’t be sad, my Meow boy. I’m here for you. I’m always with you in your happiness and in your sorrow too. I don’t know what you’ve been through in the past, but I want to make you happy and give everything I can to forget the pain of the past that you been through.”

August didn’t push away Jun this time; he felt safe in his arms and started to cry. Jun comforted him with a warm hug and gave a soft kiss on his forehead. “I will be here when you need; don’t feel alone; you’re not alone. I will be with you till the last day of my life.” For the very first time, August felt that he isn’t alone; someone is by his side. He felt loved.

They hugged each other for a moment, and Jun dropped off August to his dormitory. (Winking eyes) Jun said, “My meow boy, don’t feel sad anymore; now your life is brightened because I am into your life. Sleep tight.”

Meow boy, hey, I am worried about you. Can I have your phone number? Heisting? asked Jun. August teasingly showed that he couldn’t hear this, took a few steps forward, but after a few stops, back-faced and give a contact number to Jun. Beaming, Jun jumped with great happy emotion. Yay!

It has been a very long night for Jun; he has lain in bed for a couple of hours but hasn’t slept, he stalk August on social media. He doesn’t have that many pictures uploaded, and Jun goes through all the pictures, taking one: it’s a half-body picture where August looks cute, smiling. He saves it to his phone gallery. He opens his phone gallery; he smiles; his face looks like he found million-dollar treasures. Behind the Jun’s smile, he took a selfie of August and him when August was comforting Kinn, patting and smiling cutely. Jun changed the wallpaper of his phone with this selfie. He couldn’t sleep, thinking of today’s moments with him. He’s feeling butterflies in his stomach. Excited and red, he grabs a pillow to shield his face as he turns to face the bed.

The sun kissed August’s face; for this reason, he woke up early, thirty minutes in advance. This morning, lazy for him, he didn’t want to get down from bed, then like lightning, he whipped his body, got up, remembering that he has class today. He showered, dressed up, and left early to have breakfast out. When he opened the door, he found a note and tulips with some sweets.

Note:

Good morning, my cutie pie

You make my heart skip a beat. Just wanted to let you know that I’m always thinking of you. I wish you have a good day in your college. Don’t forget to miss me.

Your Hubby

August thinks this is so cheesy, and his face turns to disgust, and he leaves everything he receives in the room and leaves for college.

Finally, the classes were over for August and his friends, who were going to the dorms and walking up to the college gate. One of the girls called August and again gave him tulips with a note that said: I will meet you soon. When they are reading, somebody snatches a note. They even didn’t have time to react on this note. They all turned around in anger, “Who dared to snatch from our hand and saw Jun.” He was so furious; seeing the note, he tore it up into pieces. He looks so angry that he can explode any time. August and his friends trying to hide in each other’s backs with great fear. August’s friends pushed him towards Jun and ran away like this was their last day of life. When he realized he was on his own, tumbling, he asked why you are here this time? while he did not look in Jun’s eye.

June: Whoa! I come to get you. I truly don’t want to lose you to anyone; thus, I’m afraid that someone will take you away from me.

When Jun tells August this, he appears very depressed. Then he lays his head on August’s chest. When August senses the emotion, he gently embraces him and pats him on the back to comfort him. On their first meeting, he gave his heart to Jun, but he never had the guts to speak. After embracing Jun, he realizes that his feelings for him are like a fire that has recently been fueled.

Jun offered August a ride to his dorm. They are on the way to the same café from yesterday. Let’s eat something first; I’m hungry. Jun said with a puppy face. August nodded; ok, they ate. Jun went to use the restroom but left his phone on the table, the phone light on with a message notification. He blushed at his phone screen, getting shy with Jun’s wallpapers of himself. Jun just arrived from the restroom, and they left the café. Jun drops August, giving flying kisses; August gets shy and leaves, saying only bye. They left for separate ways. Jun got a message saying, “Boss, we need to discuss something important that the detective found out about tomorrow; please come to the office.”

The tension in the room was high, the air too heavy, almost to the point of being able to choke anyone who dared breathe in too deeply. A loud slapping sound cut through the quiet, reverberating off the walls like a painful thunderclap. Jun just stood there, frozen, his stinging cheek and wide eyes full of disbelief.

His father’s face was twisted in anger, his fists clenched so tightly that his knuckles had turned white. “You,” he said, his voice trembling with rage, the words dripping with contempt. “You’ve brought nothing but shame to this family. Do you understand that? You’ve ruined everything!” He was breathing in ragged bursts, advancing on his son, who was towering over him, eyes ablaze with bitter anger. Jun winced at his father’s words; with every syllable, the words felt like an added weight in his chest. He felt the tears rise, though he battled it, glancing down and unable to meet his father’s face filled with hatred.

The man’s voice turned low, cold, venomous as he uttered words that cut the deepest: “I wish you were never born. You don’t belong here. You don’t belong in this family.” The silence that followed was where the Jun’s heart shattered, the sting of his father’s words far worse than the slap. It felt like the very world around him had crumbled, leaving him with nothing but a crushing emptiness. His father’s words were knives, carving deep scars in a place he couldn’t heal.

And as the man turned and walked away, leaving his son standing, shattered, the room would darken—grow cold—as if even the walls were in favor of dismissing Jun from existence.  It seems that Jun’s father, Dr. Nike, finds out that his son is gay and likes one of the college boys. Jun is warned against being close with the boy, which he is unable to help since he is desperately in love with him.
